——Teacher Yu Ronggen’s discussion

“Confucius Journal” (hereinafter referred to as a brief journal): In today’s academic circle, you are studying Confucian and Legal civilization The master, in the early 80th year of the last century, you published articles such as “Exploring the Confucian Law Thoughts” and “How to Understand and Evaluate Confucius’ Law Thoughts”. Later, you published special works such as “Confucian Law Thoughts” and “General Thoughts on Confucian Law Thoughts”, and took the lead in systematically studying Confucius and Confucian thoughts from the perspective of law thinking. Can you tell us how you began to pay attention to Confucius and Confucianism in the era of the times? We understand that you have a profound source of knowledge with the Qufu scholars. Please give us some insights into Confucius’ old country students here and can you understand Confucius’s differences in their studies?

Teacher Yu Ronggen (hereinafter referred to as Yu):I am one of the personal practitioners of the “reaction of civilization” and “review of the law and criticize Confucianism”, “criticize Lin and criticize Confucius” movements. At that time, when the Cultural Revolution began, I was still a student in Beijing. I heard that the “red soldiers” of the 101 secondary school students were going to smash the stone lions outside the western school gate of the northern school, and we went to protect them. There is a little in the head and brain that “that is a cultural relic” and “referred to historical civilization”. Later, I heard that the Beijing Master, Dahoulan, brought “red soldiers” to Qufu and smashed Confucius’ tomb. He felt that such “reaction” was also a little low, and he felt a little regretful and doubtful about “Is there such a need?” At that time, it was not right to talk about “reaction and generosity” and in theory, it was still the civilized route that “defeated Kongjiadian” since the May Fourth Movement. When “reviewing the law and criticizing Confucianism” and “criticizing Lin and criticizing Confucius”, I have mentioned that in Chongqing Middle School, I am a political course teacher. In addition to giving students basic knowledge of philosophy and political economy, I also have the current affairs courses every Monday, so I have to “review the law and criticize Confucianism” and “criticizing Lin and criticize Confucius”. That thing is in a bad way with the Chinese philosophy history I studied in the Department of Philosophy. At that time, there was a very fashionable saying, “Turn down the history of overturning from the beginning.” In the 1960s, the unrestrained energy of academic education is still admired. I remember that the School Student Association’s Academic Department asked Guan Ke to do an academic report on criticizing Confucius. Soon after, the Philosophy Department Student Association asked the senior fellow who was named after the Philosophy Department. The teacher teaches academic reports. Mr. Feng stopped talking at that time, and with the help of his young teacher assistants and graduate students, he wrote “New Editing of Chinese Philosophy History”. I only heard his academic lecture during my reading session in the Department of Philosophy. Because of these training in Beijing, it is always a bit different to “evaluate the law and criticize Confucianism”. In addition, in the “criticism of Lin and Confucius” at that time, he also implicitly attacked people to “criticize Zhou Gong”. This “dearly “Ji Dan” was “Ji Dan”, which actually refers to Zhou Enlai. So those who have a little confidant feel bad. In 1979, I was a researcher who led these confusions to study the history of Chinese law and thinking.

During the “Cultural Revolution”, the public inspections were smashed and the political and legal colleges and departments were suspended. Located under the foot of the Gele Mountain in Chongqing, next to the Baigong Pavilion and the Kiln Cave, the Northeast Political and Law School, is “protecting the school” with great since teachers are very concerned about “keeping the school”, and they withdraw but not leaving, and they are disbanded but not disbanded. The school’s important leaders, backbone teachers, book data, and important teaching facilities have been preserved. I wasted my years of ten years, and I returned to the revival of my life, and I was eager to learn. From the library that I had not yet opened, I hid in the library and hid in the library, and studied at night. I found that since the founding of the National Law History Science in Junior High School in the last century, the predecessors of the country have confirmed that Confucianism is the soul of the Chinese law system. The Criminal Law Journal, which investigates the twenty-five histories, can further prove that this conclusion is correct. But it has also been discovered that there are very few discussions on how Confucianism guides and leads to modern Chinese law. There is a book “Pre-Qin Law Thoughts” published in 1930, which only talks about the law thoughts of Shendao, Shang Yang and Han Fei, and does not discuss the Confucian law thoughts. The history of Chinese political thinking, Chinese state and law written after the founding of the People’s Republic of China, including the history of Chinese legal system, Chinese political law thinking, and Chinese legal thinking history published in the years after the “Cultural Revolution”. The basic concepts and views on Confucius and Confucianism about law were based on criticism and denial. Speaking of Confucius and Confucianism, the general term is based on three small topics: “The ‘governance for the country’”, “The ruling of morality for politics and morality”, “The ruling of people and participants in the ‘governance for politics and people’ – answered the questions, and then ruled their answers”, and repeatedly pointed out that they opposed the rule of law and the promulgation of the statutory law. Even when the “Cultural Revolution” criticized Lin and Confucius, it was said that Confucius insisted on reversals, opposing the opposition, developing, opposing progress, and reviving the slave system, opposing the feudal system, and other political characterizations, which were also seen in some commentaries and textbooks. My teacher, Master Yang Jingfan, is an old underground party member. He reads reflection books in his youth, also has Confucian classics, and has a deep understanding of the country. He has been hard-working, has a strong will, is determined and upright, advocates truth and conscientious. He advocated the study of Confucianism from the head, encouraged and supported me to explore Confucianism’s laws and regulations. To study Confucianism, we naturally have to start with studying Confucius. In this way, I chose to use Confucius’ decrees and contemplation as the subject of scholars’ essays, and from this, it is linked to Confucianism, and it will not be harvested. Over the past decade,When talking to the previous person, I really feel like “the tummy is high and the tummy is lush”. It is as kind as Zilu’s learning, “I have been promoted to the hall, but I have not entered the room.”

From the beginning of my discussion on Confucius’s thinking and modern Chinese law, I received careful guidance and sincere help from former academicians such as Kuang Yaming, Zhang Dainian, and Shou Beiming and Confucius students in Qufu. At that time, there was no mobile_phone, no computer or Internet, and there was no text message or main mailbox, and they were all sent to you to help. I remember that at that time, as long as Qufu Hospital had a research and research institute in the country, it was called Confucius Research and Development Room. I will write a letter to Confucius for the study and ask for any questions. Soon, I received a reply from the teacher named Gui Chenglie, enthusiastically encouraged him to provide academic information and research and opinions without any preservation. In September 1984, the China Teaching Association and the Confucius Institute of Qufu Teachers’ Institute hosted the National “Confucian Teaching Conceptual Academic Conference”. I was fortunate to be invited to participate and met the long-awaited teachers such as Kuang Yaming, Jin Jingfang, Zhang Dainian, and Shou Beiming from zero to zero. At the same time, I also met the Among them are the group of Confucius Experts in Qufu, including Teacher Wang Xianjin from Qute Hospital, Teacher Liu Weihua, Teacher Gui Chenglie, Teacher Li Qixi, Teacher Luo Zuji, etc., as well as Teacher Kong Fanyin and Teacher Kong Xianglin from Qufu Cultural Administration Office. Qufu Confucius experts took advantage of the opportunity to study and had their own characteristics, some were g
